Welcome to the Rural Health Education Network of Schoharie, Otsego, and Montgomery counties.
The mission of RHENSOM is focused on improving the health of our county residents throughout the region. The under-served community health needs in our area, which have been identified through research, are addressed by promoting excellence and innovation in health education.
Program offerings include prevention and management of obesity and associated chronic diseases for community residents of all ages; dental health education for children to prevent periodontal disease and future associated chronic diseases; and recruitment and retention of rural healthcare practitioners.
RHENSOM is funded through a grant from the New York State Office of Rural Health, Rural Health Development Program. The grant is administered through the Bassett Healthcare Network in Cooperstown, NY.
